The F82 M4 CS is BMW M's final statement on the generation — the one built to prove what the S55 twin-turbo inline-six was actually capable of when stripped of compromise. Power climbed to 454 horsepower, weight came down through a carbon fiber hood, roof, front splitter, diffuser, and trunk lid, and the suspension was retuned with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires as standard. BMW claimed a Nürburgring lap 14 seconds quicker than the standard M4. It was offered across three model years only, with a planned global run of 3,000 units — ultimately cut short at 2,173 when EU emissions regulations ended production early.
This is a 2020 example — the final model year of both the M4 CS and the F82 generation as a whole, a year in which global deliveries were severely curtailed by the pandemic. Last-year examples are meaningfully scarcer than their 2018 and 2019 counterparts and represent the last of the line in every sense. Finished in San Marino Blue — the color BMW chose to introduce the CS at its global debut and the one that has come to define it — this example has been driven as the car was intended to be driven. At 55,818 miles it is not a trailer queen, and that is exactly right.
