The 997.2 Carrera GTS sits at an interesting point in the 911 hierarchy: wider bodywork shared with the Carrera 4S, a 408-horsepower naturally aspirated 3.8-litre flat-six producing 23 horsepower more than the contemporary Carrera S, a standard limited-slip differential, and a sport exhaust from the factory. It is the most driver-focused naturally aspirated 997.2 short of the GT cars, and it came with everything the GT cars deleted. Porsche built 2,656 GTS coupes in total. The vast majority left the factory with PDK. The manual coupe with no sunroof in the launch color is the configuration that disappears first.
This example is Carrara White, the color Porsche chose for every press photo and brochure image when the GTS launched. Black leather and Alcantara throughout, Guards Red seatbelts, Alcantara steering wheel, white Sport Chrono dial, white instrument dials, RS Spyder center-lock wheels, and Carbon Package. A specification that was built with a clear eye. Service records are on file. Window sticker present in documentation confirming original factory price of $119,445.
The 997.2 is the last naturally aspirated 911. When Porsche moved to turbocharged engines across the range with the 991.1 in 2016, the character of the car changed. Buyers who have driven both generations know what changed. The GTS manual coupe in the brochure color with the right interior spec and a clean service history is the configuration that holds its position. The brochure color, the right gearbox, the right roof. Service records on file. Ready to drive.
Before a car enters our inventory, every panel is measured with a calibrated paint-depth gauge and the readings recorded in full — a transparency seldom offered elsewhere.
